The School of Communication’s Partnerships and Projects staff actively recruits partners to create mutually beneficial relationships. SOC is expanding a long-term relationship with the Washington Post to include Dean's Internships, a graduate fellowship and science journalism classes writing for the Post.  A relationship with NBC4 resulted in student work appearing both on the website and local affiliate. Sharon Metcalf (above) is the senior director of the department and is continuing to establish new relationships and expand our long-standing partnerships with The Newseum, AP, Gannett, USA TODAY and many others. The relationships fall into four general categories:

  • Strategic Partners: Long-standing, mutually beneficial partnerships that are officially recognized by both parties.

  • Fellowship Sponsors: Organizations or individuals providing dedicated fellowships or internships for SOC students.
